CERTIFICATES FOR PROFESSIONAL STUDY:
- Certificates are issued one by one as each of the 12 study days plus 12 homeworks are completed
- Those completing all 24 parts of the course are awarded the 120-hour LEAARC Approved Breastfeeding Specialist Course diploma.

GRADED HOMEWORK:
This is part of the comprehensive lactation course, which totals 120 hours as approved by the Lactation Education Accreditation and Approval Review Committee (LEAARC). 70 hours are taught in class and 50 hours are graded homework.
Details of the monthly tasks set for homework (which include reading, quizzes, reflections and small teaching tasks) will be covered at the Taster Session.
To complete the homework, students need to buy the course textbook and students will be advised which to buy in the Taster Session information.
COST
Invoice to a trust or business: £1680 (£140 / day)
Individuals who are self-funding: £1320 (£110 / day)
Volunteer Breastfeeding Counsellors with no other earned income. £1020 (£85 / day)
Those who are self-funding have a choice, either to pay all at the time they are offered a course place (usually 3 months before the course starts) or to take the Pay-As-You-Go option. That involves a deposit equal to three study day payments when offered a place, then 9 monthly standing order payments beginning when the course commences.
TIME:
9am – 5pm with a 45 minutes break for lunch.
CANCELLATIONS:
Initial deposits are non-returnable.
If you want to pull out of the course once it has begun you can request a refund of any subsequent payment (less 20% admin fee) as long as you give 28 days’
notice. If you are sick etc and have to miss a study day, the payment you have already made is carried over to the next opportunity to do that day when the next course runs. If Deborah is sick and has to cancel a study day, she will reschedule so that students can still complete that day and get the expected attendance & homework certificates to fulfil exam entry requirements and deadline.
BABIES AT STUDY DAYS:
Babies in arms are welcome if the mum agrees to be muted should her baby become noisy and participants are no longer able to hear, be heard or to concentrate. The Study Days cover adult discussions and clinical images, so are not suitable for children to be present.
ENQUIRIES:
You are welcome to contact Deborah with any questions you may have.
BOOKING:
Those who attend the Taster Session will be given an Application Form to be returned in the following four weeks.
