THE APPLICATION PROCESS HAS NOW BEGUN. THE JANUARY – DECEMBER 2025 COURSE WILL BE OFFERED WITH A CHOICE OF TWO DIFFERENT FORMATS:
EITHER: Via ZOOM on one Saturday per month
OR: In-person in Chatham, Kent on one Tuesday per month
Each course is timed to meet deadlines for exam entry for those wishing to sit the APRIL 2026 exam to become IBCLCs.
APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED from those who:
- Are qualified, active practitioners in breastfeeding support.
- Are booking the entire course of 12 days.
- Commit to completing the substantial and time-consuming homework each month.
- Confirm they will be attending the first day.
- Have sufficient IT skills and facilities to use email for course communication and can compose homework using MS Word etc.
- Confirm they have their funding in place at the time of booking.
- Have attended a Taster Session
- Have completed the Application Form in full.

You will need a computer with a camera (not just a phone or tablet) plus a headset with a mic. Also, a reliable internet connection so that you can both see and be seen, as well as hear and be heard clearly.

- Attendance is a requirement for anyone wishing to make an application to do this course.
- There is no charge for the Taster Session.
- It is an opportunity to get a feel for whether this style of learning with Deborah is likely to be a ‘good fit’ for you.
- You will be given an overview of the Breastfeeding Specialist Course as well as the Application Process.
- The Potential Applicant who intends to sit the exam to become an IBCLC must FIRST check out they will have completed BOTH these IBLCE eligibility requirements:
